Hello, dear Reader - Everyone needs a bit of character background before diving head-on into the story... henceforth, a bit about myself. If you have not already, you shall come to know me as the (hopefully) delightful Mrs. K.
Fair warning - as well as harboring a love of viciously toothsome, preferably pretty darn cute vittles, I am well known for my garrulous, grandiloquent overuse of the written word.
First off, a bit about my house and home. The humble abode within which I reside is occupied primarily by three bodies - myself, of course, my wonderful husband Mr. K, and our adorably quirky feline KK. I have started this blog as... well, partly as a coping mechanism for riding out the bad economy (My husband works 21hr/week and I freelance... money, unfortunately, is not commonplace here), and partially as a resource for folks out there suffering under the same conditions.
My posts will vary - some will be general "life update" posts, some will focus on creative storage solutions (cardboard makes for very good drawer dividers!), and I imagine quite a few will come centered around the various food-related restrictions in the family and amoungst our friends. Our house is low-gluten (Mr. K has a slight allergy to wheat gluten that he usually ignores), beef-free (the cow does not like me), no aspartame (gives me headaches, makes my throat numb, makes my breathing stop. Yikes!). And our cat is allergic to corn - which means canned food (or leftover meats from us) is her usual fare.
Much of my posts will consist of my day-to-day enjoyment - creating "cute food" - in the form of bento boxes. Of course, if I am to be honest, most of my creations are more "bento plates" than boxes, but it's all the same. I am nothing if not a source of culinary creative style.
Speaking of style, you'll find mine to be just as eclectic as my tastes in music - I cover everything from lollygoth to steampunk (or diesel punk!), simple handmade accessories, the glamor of the 40s and 50s hairstyles - thank goodness I know how to pin curl! There is a certain... je ne sais quoi about the charasmatic wonder-days of Hollywood.
*sigh*
Now I have to fight the urge to drop everything to watch some old Hollywood musical.
.... perhaps Singing in the Rain? ^_^
Verily,
the lovely Mrs. K
